Plain-language definition
A model can be one component of an instantiated system and may have many deployments.

Legal or policy use

What the term implies

What the term does not imply
A model file or model name is not necessarily an agent, person, institution or continuous subject.
It also does not convert a valid signature, credential, database record, model hash, or website into factual truth or legal authority without additional evidence and a competent decision.
